Hoya Curtisii, also known as the Porcelain Flower or Fung Wax Plant, is a small-leaved, trailing species perfect for hanging baskets or shelf displays. Its dainty, speckled green leaves grow densely along delicate vines, making it a charming addition to any plant collection. This plant is known for its ability to produce clusters of small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers under the right conditions.

Hoya Curtisii Care Tips:

1. Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate some low light, it thrives best with plenty of filtered sunlight. Direct sun exposure can cause the leaves to scorch.

2. Soil:

Use a well-draining mix, such as one composed of orchid bark, perlite, and cactus soil. Avoid using peat moss, as it retains too much moisture, which can cause root rot. Hoya Curtisii prefers its roots to dry out between waterings.

3. Watering:

Water sparingly. Allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can cause the roots to rot, so ensure proper drainage. In the winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows.

4. Humidity:

Hoya Curtisii enjoys moderate to high humidity levels, ideally between 50-70%. If your home has lower humidity, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a humidity tray.

5. Temperature:

This plant thrives in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Keep it away from cold drafts or extreme temperature fluctuations.

6. Fertilization:

Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. In fall and winter, reduce feeding as the plant's growth slows.

7. Pruning:

Prune to shape the plant and remove any dead or leggy growth. Pruning encourages bushier growth and can be done at any time of the year.

8. Propagation:

Hoya Curtisii is easy to propagate by stem cuttings. Select a healthy vine with a few leaves and at least one node, place it in water or a moist soil mix, and roots should form in a few weeks.

9. Flowering:

Under ideal conditions, Hoya Curtisii may produce small clusters of star-shaped flowers. To encourage blooming, provide plenty of light and ensure the plant is slightly pot-bound.
