The Alocasia Scalprum, also known as the “Narrow Sword Alocasia,” is a rare and striking plant with deep green, glossy leaves that have a distinct, textured surface. Its elongated, pointed foliage resembles the blade of a sword, making it a unique addition to any plant collection. This compact Alocasia thrives in warm, humid conditions, making it an excellent choice for indoor growing.

Alocasia Scalprum Care Tips:

1. Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate leaves.

2. Soil:

Use a well-draining, airy soil mix containing orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir to promote root health and prevent waterlogging.

3. Watering:

Keep the soil slightly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Reduce watering in colder months.

4. Humidity:

Thrives in high humidity (60% or more). Using a humidifier or placing the plant near a pebble tray with water can help maintain ideal moisture levels.

5. Temperature:

Best suited for temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

6. Fertilization:

Feed with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilization, as it can damage the roots.

7. Propagation:

Can be propagated through division by carefully separating offsets from the mother plant during repotting.

8. Pests & Diseases:

Monitor for spider mites, thrips, and mealybugs. Regularly wipe the leaves and use insecticidal soap if necessary.
