The Hoya Fitchii is a rare and sought-after variety of Hoya known for its stunning, small, star-shaped flowers and attractive, thick, waxy foliage. This climbing or trailing plant has narrow, elongated leaves with a beautiful glossy finish, making it an elegant addition to any collection. When in bloom, it produces clusters of white or pink flowers with a subtle fragrance, adding charm and beauty to any space.

Hoya Fitchii Care Tips:

1. Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to scorch, so it’s best to keep it in a well-lit area with filtered light.

2. Soil:

Plant in a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent mix combined with perlite or orchid bark to ensure proper drainage. Good drainage is essential to avoid root rot.

3. Watering:

Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. Like many Hoyas, the Hoya Fitchii is drought-tolerant, so avoid overwatering. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.

4. Humidity:

Thrives in moderate to high humidity. If your home has dry air, consider using a humidity tray or misting the plant occasionally to provide the moisture it needs.

5. Temperature:

Prefers temperatures between 60°F to 85°F (16°C - 29°C). Avoid placing it in areas where temperatures fall below 50°F (10°C) or near drafts.

6. Fertilization:

Fertilize every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced fertilizer. During the winter months, reduce feeding as the plant’s growth slows down.

7. Propagation:

Propagate through stem cuttings with at least one node. Place the cuttings in water or well-draining soil, and keep them in a warm, humid environment until roots develop.

8. Pests & Diseases:

The Hoya Fitchii is relatively pest-resistant but can occasionally attract aphids, mealybugs, or scale. Keep an eye on the plant for any signs of pests and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap as needed.
