The Hoya Quinquenervia is a stunning and rare vining plant known for its thick, waxy leaves and delicate, fragrant flowers. This tropical beauty is a perfect addition to any Hoya collection, featuring elegant foliage with distinct veining and clusters of star-shaped blooms. Native to Southeast Asia, it thrives in warm, humid environments and makes an excellent hanging or climbing plant.

Hoya Quinquenervia Care Tips:

1. Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but should be protected from harsh afternoon sun.

2. Soil:

Requires a well-draining mix, such as a combination of orchid bark, perlite, and coconut coir to maintain proper aeration.

3. Watering:

Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.

4. Humidity:

Thrives in high humidity (above 50%) but can adapt to average household humidity. Misting or using a humidity tray can help maintain optimal levels.

5. Temperature:

Prefers warm temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

6. Fertilization:

Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

7. Propagation:

Easily propagated through stem cuttings in water or soil. Cuttings with at least one node tend to root successfully within a few weeks.

8. Pests & Diseases:

Generally resistant to pests but may attract mealybugs or spider mites. Regularly inspect leaves and treat any infestations with insecticidal soap if needed.
