The Watermelon Peperomia, or Peperomia argyreia, is a popular houseplant named for its uniquely patterned, round leaves that resemble watermelon rinds. With its compact growth and distinctive green and silver striping, this peperomia is perfect for adding a touch of charm to any indoor space.

Watermelon Peperomia Care Tips:

1. Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light but can adapt to medium light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade its vibrant leaf pattern.

2. Soil:

Use a well-draining potting mix rich in materials like perlite and orchid bark for aeration and drainage. Avoid using moss-based mixtures.

3. Watering:

Water when the top 2/3 of soil feels dry. Watermelon Peperomia has semi-succulent leaves, so it stores moisture well and is sensitive to overwatering.

4. Humidity:

Thrives in moderate humidity but is adaptable to average household conditions. Increase humidity with a small tray of water and pebbles if needed.

5. Temperature:

Ideal temperature range is 65-80°F (18-27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 60°F (15°C).

6. Fertilization:

Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.

7. Propagation:

Easily propagated by leaf or stem cuttings placed in soil or water.
